Although my hair is very fine, these combs held the bun in place for 1-2 hours before it fell out. (I've styled my hair for decades, so experience isn't the issue.) Then the teeth snap and the hair is visible, pulled out from the remaining stumps. You can gently break off the stump when it's finished, but there will be fewer teeth left to hold the hair. Too bad.
