I would have replaced my rented xfinity Wi-Fi modem sooner, but I've read conflicting reviews on Revain about wireless modems in general and investing in my own Wi-Fi modem simply postponed. But the cost of renting an xfinity modem went up to $14 a month, so that was the last straw, and the company bought the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900. Happy to report it works great and has separate 2.4GHz and 5G signal so like 2 Wi-Fi signals in one. For less technical types like me, PLEASE READ. If you have an Xfinity, call them and tell them you're changing modems. You provide Xfinity with the serial number and model number of the modem on the side of the device. Keep in mind that although the signal will work, you will NOT be able to access the internet until you call Netgear to register the modem with them. Once you do that, everything will work. You may have to unplug it for 20 seconds to allow it to restart. I have 7-8 devices on it and it works great. No problems with signal loss or lag. Most importantly, I've reduced my monthly Xfinity bill to $49 per month and am very satisfied.
