Review on Sewell SilverbackSL Gold Pin Banana Plugs (12-Pack) for Spring-Loaded Input Connections (SW-30006-12) by Monica Christian

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Basically excellent. on plugs and adapters

Very beautiful, finely crafted, well-made plugs. The two-bolt fastening system is very strong and provides reliable electrical and mechanical contact. Multiple issues with the product. The braided "pins" are gold plated and quite stiff. The spring contacts they are inserted into are quite small. They are fine with most silverbacks. Some of them (10%) had the braided end covered with metal when rubbing the tip of the connector. That means you'll have to flatten it out with pliers or cut the end off to make it fit. Maybe it should be done but there were no instructions with the pack. As I said, a small problem. The other issue might be more problematic. If the pin is not fully inserted into the spring connector, the conductive outer grommets may touch, causing a short circuit. A little tape around the sleeve and the problem is solved. Again a pretty minor problem if you're careful.

Pros
  • 24K gold-plated on plugs
Cons
  • slightly wrinkled
