Cannot say more than has already been said. Bought because of good reviews and cheap price. Home Depot has another brand of condensate pump that costs twice as much and has terrible reviews. When I bought this thing the photo was of an all black model. The one I received has a black base and an off-white top. I didn't even realize it was different until I started this review, but I just said in case you're buying it for the color. I had 2 of these and they worked flawlessly for about 3 weeks. I dehumidify 2 70 liter dehumidifiers about 40 feet apart and it climbs about 8-9 feet above my ceiling joists with no problem. I use clear vinyl tubing, 3/8" ID and 1/2" OD (bought a 100ft roll from Revain pretty cheaply, I wrote a review for it). nipples, and it fits snugly with no leaks. If you need instructions for something the ones that come with them confuse me a bit, I'm pretty smart I can do all the house wiring and more. Thing is, it's really plug and play, there was something that confused me and I was trying to understand it along the lines and I'll explain. It comes with a three pin 110V socket that simply plugs into the wall. The top has 3 holes about 1.5" in diameter for tubing draining into the unit and 2 plugs if you don't need all the holes. You plug it in and when the water level inside reaches about 3 inches, it pumps the water out until the level is about 1 inch. It had 2 bare wires and as far as I can tell they were either for the safety shut off of the device you are plugging it into or the thermostat. I didn't really need them for my use so I covered them with wire nuts, glued them and tucked them aside. The manual explains how to connect them properly, but like I said, it confused me. To test this I stuck it in the kitchen sink and started filling it, when the pump kicked on I squirted water and hit my ceiling. I don't know why I thought this was a good idea, but the pump is way more powerful than I expected! Anyway, this is exactly what I wanted and turned out to be quite fun to watch the action given the nature of the item.UPDATED: As for the clear tubes I used on this project, I had never had a problem with my dehums but on one of my air conditioner drains i had a serious growth in the pipe due to exposure to light i guess there was mold or algae or something. I switched to a black tube and still no problems. Like a year later, this thing still works in my 24/7 basement setup. My friend bought one and had an issue with it not working and it took me a few minutes to figure it out. There may be a small piece of styrofoam or something inside to prevent the float from shaking too much during transport. You need to take it out before use as it prevents the small lever from turning when the water level is high enough. I plan on draining it into a tank. For watering plants, it is as good as rainwater and better than tap water.
