I use this dog bed in a cage and my two dogs love it. I have a little puppy and he sleeps in it quite often. I also have a very large dog who likes to sleep in this dog bed. I've also found my kids sleeping in it :) Somehow my dogs, who have to destroy everything (seriously, goodbye, new carpet), won't even try to rip it apart. I don't get it, pillows seem to be the victim of their choice. I think they just really like this dog bed. I've thrown it in the washer and dryer a few times, no problem. Still looks and feels the same as when you bought it. I highly recommend this dog bed.
