Bought to fit a padded trunk on my Yaris for a 5 hour drive. The backpack came with two but they didn't close and I needed more straps to keep the carrier securely in place. I'm glad I have them! They held very tight and I was able to tighten a lot more than the ones that came with the holder (I used all 4 to minimize wobble or movement). It took me a few minutes to figure out how to use them as no instructions were included but it was easy to tell when they were correct. However, I am also very good at it. On the other hand my husband looked completely confused and if he had been there alone they would not have been used that day lol. Instructions for people who need them would be really nice to have on the belts, especially as the day we used them we didn't have cell service and couldn't google how to use them! I'm just not sure if they soak up water and run into the car when it rains, but I didn't need to figure out what day we used them as it was sunny. If rain had seeped through the fabric of the strap during the 5 hour ride my rating would have been very different! However, the quality is amazing, the tensioner feels solid and strong (they didn't loosen at all during our 120+ km/h hill and highway ride) and the belts feel heavy-duty. We stopped 5-6 times to check our cargo and nothing moved which impressed me, although our cargo wasn't anything crazy (just a padded trunk with a suitcase, two backpacks, 2 pairs of hiking boots, some pillows ). and three blankets). I keep them in the trunk of my car on the top shelf, just in case. I see this is going to be one of those things that I'll be using more often than I expected. I am thinking of buying these as a gift for my son in law as I think he will love them and they will work better than the straps he has for his caravan! I can honestly say the trunk wouldn't be as good without them in my opinion as it was value for money!
