This is a great case I received today so I'll comment on the quality and construction of this case Late June 2016. It's definitely big enough for my 9.7" iPad Pro (which has its own hard case and foldable cover) as well as an Apple Pencil. It's still a bit roomy inside, which means that I don't have to struggle to reach your iPad. The padding is soft and thick. This is definitely the best place for the price and quality. Please note: when you place the Apple Pencil in the appropriate area of the case, stand Make sure you thread it through the black elastic loop tucked on the inside edge of the case so the pencil doesn't flop (or fail!) when you take your iPad out.
