Review on πŸ§— Anasazi Climbing Shoe for Men by Five Ten by Yousef Abood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great shoes with a long history

The Anasazi Lace has been part of the 5.10 range since the 1990s. Luckily, with very few design changes, this shoe, nicknamed "Pink," still retains a "competitive edge" in the climbing market. (Why change a good thing!) While the Anasazi outsole isn't popular with climbers who only pursue steep, overhanging routes, the medium-stiff outsole offers excellent edge hold, excels at vertical terrain, and is a great shoe for a skinny crack . Likes: Stiff flat soles. Sticky Gum C4. A cozy sock that helps with that coin-sized edge, especially on vertical routes. An old-school lacing system that helps adjust and tighten the shoe in all the right places. Dislikes: While laces are great for trails, my bouldering friends don't like them. This shoe's stiff sole advantage on vertical routes puts it at a disadvantage for my friend, who prefers to scale the steepest overhanging limestone. Requires some warm-up time. I'm often asked why I started rock climbing, and one of my favorite answers is that it's the only time I can wear pink shoes and my co-workers don't give me weird looks. I've owned a few of these pairs over the years and have never been disappointed.
