Ideal for small cats, but cats rely on stealth to protect themselves from predators. So if you live in a rural area and your cat goes into the woods a lot, I would recommend YOU DON'T RESPECT IT ON THEM as they won't have the ability to hide from their enemies like ninjas do. Otherwise, if you only want to see your cat in the garden at night, then this is a great collar for that. That's why I bought it (my cat doesn't leave the yard). The collar is a little big for them but they will get used to it and PLEASE REMEMBER TO REMOVE IT FROM THE NECK once inside. SHOULD NEVER BE A PERMANENT COLLAR FOR A CAT. Be nice to your animals, we don't deserve them and they are better than us.
