Data transfer does not work for Pixel 2

"Data transfer" is in the product name. The pixel is mentioned in the description. When I connect my phone to my computer with this cable, the phone charges. However, the PC (Windows 10) does not recognize the connected USB device and my phone does not give me the option to change the USB settings to "data transfer". Really shit. Now I will order another cable.
