Our dogs do not usually have collars. These are house dogs and they will not go outside unless we are physically present. We have a silverback dog (charcoal black with lots of silver hair, like a silverback gorilla) that we can't see in the dark. The collar makes it easy to find, but it's hard to see behind and in front. Her hair isn't long so it's not a problem.
