I bought this tray for my office freezer to have some ice cubes. I liked that it wasn't plastic or aluminum. I remember using a similar tray as a kid when ice machines weren't common. Unlike the tray I remember from my childhood, this new tray's handle doesn't break the ice. At the end, I take the tray out of the freezer, wait about five minutes, and then empty the ice from the tray. For my purposes, this issue has not prompted me to return the ice tray. I can put the tray away, do something else for a few minutes, and then go back to get ice. I could see where others are returning this item due to this issue.
