I'm not a professional barber, but I have a few years of experience in maintaining my family members' haircuts. I also had good professional scissors at the time, but I left them when I moved house. Now I had to cut someone's hair again, so I bought these scissors. My choice was mainly based on very good reviews and a reasonable price. The scissors exceeded all my expectations. They are very comfortable to hold, easy to work with and exceptionally sharp! These scissors allow me to trim the ends of my hair half an inch from my fingers to keep the hair from slipping off the edges. This is how hairdressing scissors should be! Let me comment on some of the complaints in other reviews. Yes, scissors get wet in a clear plastic bag, but it's not water and they're not used. It is a high quality, clean, stain-free motor oil. Well, I'm not sure why stainless steel still needs to be stain resistant... Of course, a thin edge can be more vulnerable... In any case, it's better to be safe than sorry. Upon receipt, simply wash your scissors with soap and a soft sponge and you're good to go. Another common complaint is a small hole that doesn't fit the thumb. The first thing they teach you in hairdressing classes is not to put your thumb in a hole (see the picture that says "wrong"). Only the tip of the thumb should be inserted (see "Right"). Because you should be able to quickly fold the scissors in your hand ("Hand Folded”) and then hold the comb with your thumb and forefinger ("Use Comb”). Well, if the ring finger doesn't fit in the hole, then another matter; You can't use scissors. Just in case, the hole for the ring finger is 21 x 16 mm (13/16 x 5/8 inch), about the size of a ring on a 9th finger (US).
