The shelf is good for creating space where none was. It is located at the top of the oven and forms a flat surface where it would normally be slightly curved. Because the panel isn't flush with the wall, something can come loose, and for that reason I'm using this shelf to fill that gap. By eliminating that small space, I eliminate the risk of something falling in. In addition, it is very easy to clean. I use this surface to store my spice jars, salt and pepper grinders, and small sauce bottles. It's nice to have the most commonly used ingredients at hand when cooking. The ledge is held in place with double-sided tape, which holds it in place fairly well, but it has some flexibility that allows the small shelf to wobble. Not so much that the items on top fall off, but enough that you feel like it might happen. It's just a minor thing that I noticed about this shelf, but I still give it 5 stars and think every ledge board should have it.
