Very similar to what the description says "you can use a special gun to melt them" they are more like a glue stick in consistency. It's actually not wax. Although I think it's common now. They still work, but behave a little differently than the sealing wax you may be used to. I wouldn't recommend melting the stick directly on an open fire, but melting it in something, in a spoon or in one of the special melting bowls. On the plus side, they are slightly more durable and flexible than traditional sealing wax when customized. On the other hand, you don't have the same "open time" to work with, but if you think of it like melted glue, the working time is more like that. Don't make a quick stamp with the seal, let it sit until it starts to cool. then carefully remove from the outer edge. If you have an intricate seal, it will want to grab at the nooks and crannies, but let go.
