Good news first. It does what it's supposed to and the thick handle makes it easy to handle, even for older hands. The odd pink color makes it easy to spot in a sewing tool box, which is a big deal when the piece is so pointy! Now for the less good news. We bought 6 of these for our doll making classes and you should be aware that the clear protective cap is easy to lose every time, so have wine corks handy to protect yourself! Not only is it transparent and easily lost, but it also falls off, so I assume the manufacturer just wanted to ensure safety in transit.
