The microscope I chose was used - like new condition. I wanted to take either new or like new. I am satisfied with the quality of this microscope even though it was not new. I had some issues with the battery area. I had to remove the bottom and remove the battery pack holder because the black wire from the battery was pinched causing a short in the connection. After removing the packaging and reconnecting the batteries, the light is well powered. I really wish I could spend more to get a dual light version of this microscope but I think I can hold a flashlight and it does the same. I am very satisfied with the processing quality. I know that with careful use this microscope will last a long time.
