Good for warmth and grip.
I bought these gloves to use with my cook but I also used them to take the pan out of the oven just to experiment. I can hold a hot pan in my hand for a good 20 seconds before it gets really hot. Plenty of time to transport something hot from one place to another. They have a really good grip so they also help open jars if the lid is too tight.
