I replaced an expensive Watts three-stage filter with this one simply because I didn't want to spend $100 a year on filters. I have two. I figured I could buy two of these for the price of the filters alone. I can honestly say that the quality of the actual filter housing falls far short of Watts quality. You get what you pay for. It's all lightweight plastic, no metal anywhere. It wasn't as thin as I expected, but it's settled in and doesn't leak. Water tastes just as good, if not better, than more expensive filters. It remains to be seen if they actually last a year as advertised, but so far I'm impressed with the value. I went ahead and ordered additional replacement filters in case I couldn't find them in the future. The faucet itself looks very high quality and heavy. All hardware is solid. I chose not to use it as they only offer it in chrome and the rest of my faucets are aged bronze. I reused my old faucet which worked very well. The water pressure is minimal because you need to install the water pressure regulator included in the kit. This is about half the pressure compared to unregulated Watts. Still good, but will take some time to fill a gallon jug with. I had little residue during the cleaning process, which I liked. Other cheap filters I've had in the past have removed carbon in days if not weeks. I didn't see any carbon deposits after the first second of turning it on for the first time.
