Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Revitalize with Match 'N Patch: Realistic Dark Brown Leather Repair Tape by Kristen Simpson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Much better than a hole.

Update: I deducted a star because the tape actually peeled the top layer off the faux leather and left a sticky trail on my skin where it left when it came in contact with it. This is a very temporary fix at best, and I can argue that this has made things worse in the long run. If you want a seamless or invisible finish on expensive leather, look elsewhere. But for my ottoman, which I restored from faux leather that tore in several places when moving in, it's a huge improvement. It looks better than duct tape but I think it still looks like duct tape. I pointed this out to someone and she said she didn't even notice and I think that's really the point here. It goes perfectly with dark brown. As for other reviewers, the stickiness of working with him has been exaggerated. I didn't have the problem. I tried, as someone suggested, greasing the scissors with oil to avoid damaging them. The oil made a lot more mess than the duct tape. I don't recommend this approach. It was easy for me to work and my scissors are fine. The glue didn't work for me. I wiped the surface with alcohol first and had no problem putting the tape on it. I think I may need to add another small cross piece to the area where I rest my feet each night, but I have enough left over for many other patches.

Pros
  • Craft supplies
Cons
  • Very expensive
