This switch has a "manual" feature that makes it better than any other I've tried for my purpose. The manual function stops automatic switching to a new input when power is supplied from a new source. While this action is fine for some purposes, and this is how this switch works when you select this option, it's difficult to tell which HDMI port is active. For example, someone is watching a TV program on port 1, and someone else turned on a DVD connected to port 2 to remove the DVD. I've tried all the other switches and this one also automatically interrupts the TV program and switches to the DVD input. In manual mode, this unit will switch to the input selected by the remote control and stay there until changed. This behavior allows the DVD player to turn on without interrupting the program being broadcast on the TV. It also allows people with technical problems at home to have multiple TV inputs and be sure that when they leave the device it will work properly when the person with technical problems turns on the TV.
