I ordered a large size according to the size chart, tried it on at home and immediately thought it was too tight. Took less than a minute and said no. I suffer from migraine syndrome, so I try not to provoke it with tight hats or helmets. I should have kept it longer though. I put it back in the box and sent it back. Then I accidentally ordered another big one, thinking I got a very big one (stupid of me, I know). I stuck with it and decided to try it on for a 30 minute bike ride. Wow! It slides snugly around the ears, but I've learned to pull the strap tight over the padding and take out one ear at a time, then do the same with the other strap and two ears at a time with almost no snagging. Problem solved. Once on my head, I actually forgot it was there as I drove across town to my girlfriend's house and hugged her. I headbutted her, and again as I apologized and tried to kiss her forehead. laugh out loud! So I found it very light, comfortable and looks good with good materials. I took it on the freeway and hear a slight squeak at speeds over 60mph, but personally I won't be driving the interstate very often. This is my city and work helmet. Reviews from others who have shed it swear by it. I trust it and it's a good helmet compared to the poorly constructed helmets I've worn in the past. Very important! If you find yourself cramping but have the right fit, try the strap method I talked about and just drive around before you decide. I think a larger size would be wobbly and that would be a more noticeable issue. Oh, and the matte black finish goes almost perfectly with my matte black bike.
