This gate is a wonderful product. I have used rigid bed extenders in the past and prefer them because they don't take up much space in my garage or other places I go. At the same time, it is solid and strong. I'm not worried about losing my gear in the back of the truck, which happened to me with the hard extension (when it came loose). You can tuck it firmly against the back wheels of motorcycles and along the 'floor' of your bed, and strong webbing protects everything and has the added benefit of not taking up any part of the width of your bed. A regular extension lasts about 3 to 4 inches because it sits inside the edges of the bed, leaving less room for a refrigerator or luggage.
