Review on Bavel Spokes Mountain 251Mm 268Mm Nipples Sports & Fitness by Johnathan Delgado

I have purchased many of these spokes over the past year and have used them on several mountain bike wheels. At first I was concerned that these weren't stainless steel spokes. They mount (bend) like stainless steel, but where the spokes rub, surface rust will develop over time. It's a little, but noticeable, and I'm not keen on it. I can add a drop of lube or a drop of color. On the plus side, I usually use Wheelsmith or DT Swiss nipples and they fit these spokes snugly. I haven't had any issues with threads. And as a bonus, the latest batch of spokes had BRASS nipples instead of the steel nipples of previous batches! It was a welcome and welcome change. Haven't used the nipples yet so I'm hoping they will fit as well as brand name nipples. Overall, I'm giving these needles a 3-star "OK" rating (due to the material) and a 5-star for value, resulting in my final 4-star overall rating. If those spokes were ever made of stainless steel I would happily pay a little more and they would be gold in wheel building!
