I needed hiking/river sandals for a week on the boat. I wanted slip-resistant soles and a waterproof upper so they fit. You were fine. If I hadn't had Tevas before to compare, they probably would have received a higher rating. I bought them for the price. They were a bit too big and chafed at the back of the heel, especially on the day I wore them in spring (rocky ground). After that day I had to put them aside and wear flip flops until my heels healed. I would love to take them on my next trip that involves a lot of walking but I have my doubts as they are larger and take up space in my suitcase. At the same time they are light.
