XL the largest waist offered, is OK on my 39in waist and 5'10' height, although the waist sizes seem based upon a smaller, perhaps Asian, profile. But the washing instructions are only in Spanish, and I think it says 'hand wash only'. That may account for some of the complaints about wear. Can these be washed in the washer, cold? Why no manufacturer info at all on this? Supposed to be obvious; why? If the washer is not recommended ,why not just a word on it, in ENGLISH?I chose not to use my dryer. Anyway, after washing cold, permanent press cycle, I see that line drying is very fast indeed. The fabric is of medium weight, washes fairly clean and is comfortable feeling. The fit accomodates larger hips such as mine, and should be just fine for summer wear for your average geezer.
