Ok first off the instructions weren't very descriptive which didn't make things easy. But I pulled myself together. After installing it on the bed with the "most secure" screws and straps, there is still at least 2 inches of space between the mattress and the bed, and the legs rest on the spring and mattress, so this was it not my setup. So you need to add a pillow or bumper to keep your child from falling between the mattress and the railing. And it's still a little sketchy, but with all the padding I put in, it kept it from falling off the bed, which was the goal. I just wish they had a way to secure the middle and top of the racks, as well as a more girly design option.
