I live in a single-family house with solar energy. My solar power plant has 12 large flooded batteries. As part of maintenance, I check each cell's specific gravity every three months to ensure all batteries are properly charged. I know what the specific gravity of a properly charged full cell lead-acid battery should be. The EZ Red SP101 Battery Hydrometer is accurate and indicates that all cells in my battery setup are healthy. The gauge is easy to read. To take a reading from a battery cell, insert the tip of the hydrometer into the battery cell, sucking in and out the battery electrolyte several times, which helps stir the electrolyte as it can stratify. After drawing and releasing the water a few times, take one last draw, touch the hydrometer to release any bubbles that may be on the gauge, and read. You'll get accurate results every time.
