Now made in India. The model in the photo (as of 09/12/17) shows the USA with a proud embossing in the middle. These versions were accurate and the protractor wobbled nice and smoothly. The Indian version has a jumbled scale, a large radius where to set the drill's angle, a bent and torn protractor, and a trampled on rivet that is both off-center and sticking. so far from the back that it becomes unusable in a horizontal position. Luckily Revain has a great returns policy and I hope General Tools gets a return truck as a quality gauge. I should have spent a few euros more for a real instrument. When you use a tool frequently, the quality outweighs the price. Compare Mitutoyo (Japan), PEC (USA), Kinex (Eastern Europe), Big Horn (BFE) and Starrett (USA) and choose the best tool for your budget.
