So I played The Witcher. and I had just wrapped the headphones around my neck (thank goodness) and suddenly EXTREMELY loud noise replaced the beautiful sound coming out of my Philips SHP9500S. It was so loud (my amplified headphones) that it hurt my ears as they rested on my shoulders. I immediately panicked, thinking that something had just messed up the drivers in my banks (why was the volume rising so much? The volume wasn't even remotely loud coming from the amp before the cable came off, but I digress). I unplugged the headphones from the amp and immediately tested them on my phone. still extremely static sounding (but not loud). Oh no. I then replaced that cable with another one I had lying around and voila. the sound is back to normal. So: 1) Thanks to everyone who thought the wired replacement earbuds were a good idea. 2) These cables suck. I've had them for less than a month.
