Review on Sewell SilverbackSL Gold Pin Banana Plugs (12-Pack) for Spring-Loaded Input Connections (SW-30006-12) by Brittney Shallenberger

Be careful with shorts.

Good. Above all, it's beautiful! Shiny, well built, with some weight, they'll look great even in ridiculously expensive audio systems. The flex pin is a little thick, but I had no problem getting it into any of the spring clips I tried. After assembling a pair of Sewell Deadbolt Banana Plugs very quickly, with no pain, no scolding, and no tools, I couldn't believe the problems these Silverbacks were having. First you need to find your tiny screwdriver, insert the stripped wire, hold the wire, connector and screwdriver and tighten 2 separate screws. And if your cable is too thick or something oddly gets stuck inside, then the screw won't sit flush and the silver cover won't slide back. So ease of use from 1 to 10, I would give them a 4. Bars would be a 10. Ugly. Using a multimeter, I've found that a lot of mine is actually conductive on the knurling. And guess what, that's the part that touches things/things/another friend when hanging behind the speaker, which can cause a short circuit. I don't know if the non-conductive coating is too thin or if mine was scratched or defective in some way. All I know is that this is simply not acceptable. So I "fixed" mine by placing shrink tubing on the knurling (see fig.). I would return them but there just aren't many flexible pin options. Conclusion: If you only need banana plugs, buy bars. If you need a flexible connector these might work, but check for shorts before installing.
