I figured I would need an HDMI cable with HDMI arc outputs to control the soundbar with my TV remote. Fortunately this is not the case. I used the included optical cable to connect the soundbar to the optical port on the Vizio E70-F3. All I had to do was turn off the TV speakers and turn on the soundbar. When the TV and soundbar speakers were turned on, there was a reverberation effect. I just had to turn off the TV speakers. Truly plug and play. The difference between HDMI and optical cables is that HDMI handles 7.1 surround sound while optical handles up to 5.1. For my needs this is not a problem. The sound is very good, I have no complaints and I can use the TV remote for the soundbar.
