I use mesh seedcatchers on my parakeet cages to keep the mess contained in the bottom of the cage rather than on my floor.The seed catcher I received for review is made from a fabric that is not safe for pet birds.The description is polyester mesh. The photo shows mesh with stars, which I thought was a print on the fabric. What I received was mesh with plastic stars lightly glued on. They easily peel off.Why is this dangerous and not safe to use? Birds are attracted to shiny items. Birds chew. If a bird swallowed one of the tiny plastic stars, it would lodge in its crop resulting in possible infection or even death.What I do like is the elastic cord and spring buckle design. Most seed catchers used sewed on elastic, which is not as nice. However, I cannot use these because of the unsafe fabric.
