Nice weight well finished BUT

Seller sent cleaning and seasoning instructions but after following instructions there is still a gray coating on the inside after seasoning. I would like the seller to reply HOW MANY times you have to do this for it to be safe to eat from. When I cleaned it, was there no gray film on the paper towels after the gray film had baked in? What next?
