Review on GogoFix Precision Anti-Static ESD Tweezers Kit: The Ultimate Toolset for Electronics, Craft, Jewelry, and Lab Work by Ron Patel

The regular supplier tweezers we use in our work cost almost as much (and in some cases more) as this entire set individually. Yes, it's precision ground. But also this one. They have an insulating but static dissipative coating. But also this one. You have a pad. OK, but that's not it. boo hoo But they have a nice little tote bag, and this one doesn't. The super expensive ones don't seem to have the best mount, but I don't want to test that. And yes, there are a few spots where, if you look closely, the handling looks a little better on the expensive ones. A little. As in "look under the microscope a bit to see". Maybe it's a bit of an overstatement, but after a few uses, even the expensive ones will warp and need to be bent back to straighten. I had no problem selecting and placing resistors and capacitors the size of the SMT-0402. Well, nothing more than normal. I'm getting old and these tiny bits are smaller than the spices I add to spaghetti. I tested the static dissipation properties with the device we use to test wristbands and the results were inconclusive. On the other hand, the peak-to-peak resistance was measured with a certified meter in 4-wire mode at less than 4mΩ, which is the minimum noise of my bench. The measured insulation resistance exceeds 10 MΩ; Measurement limit, but I haven't checked the dielectric strength. I've only checked a few, one curved, one platypus and one straight; they should all be about the same. The insulation is paint based and I'm pretty sure they are not designed to operate on live mains voltage circuits. Do you expect them to be? All in all this is a good set.
