Just figure out where you want to install them and mark them with a marker.

Installed on my trailer 8X5 on the side rails. Just figure out where you want to install them and use a marker to mark the inside of the holes and then a good drill. Drill two holes and fasten with strong nuts and bolts. Ready. Use with Master Lock type ratchet ties works very well. No strap will come loose in the wind or worse, lose your load, whatever it is. In addition, the Progrip 822640 surface mount mounting rings will help you and give you peace of mind that your belongings are safe.
