Review on Joy Pad Controllers Nintendo Switch Replacement by Robert Aiono

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty good secondary Joy-Con!

Well, I have to admit: I was skeptical. I was fascinated by the design, the ergonomic shape and all that. But knowing how good the Nintendo Joy-Cons are (drift notwithstanding), I wasn't sure what to expect. But lo and behold, they survive! I had a really good time playing Super Mega Baseball 3 with them. The left stick is a bit tight; are much more sensitive to the compass direction, so it takes some time to master the angular direction. But after just a few minutes of play I was glad that the stick was starting to loosen a bit! Buttons have a smaller click than Nintendo Joy-Cons, which I really liked. Also, having a real d-pad on the left is great and feels pretty fast. And the strap attachments were a pleasant surprise! I might make them my standard straps in my Switch travel bag. To ensure that the docked Switch's LEDs are visible through the relatively thin plastic case while charging. (Shown in the attached photo.) I actually found a cool effect in the dark. Just wanted to warn you honestly. And as described, they lack some features like NFC for Amiibo and IR on the right controller. The rumble was decent; not as sensitive or accurate as the rumble on the Nintendo Joy-Cons, but better than expected (which is more of a bonus for me). Nonetheless, I found this to be a great way to add an extra set of controllers to a collection for a fair price. And the strap attachments were a pleasant surprise!
