These socks seem to be really good. Size M fits the broad side of a 48 inch 6 year old in a size #13 shoe: the foot is ample and the toe rises above the knees. Not a big deal as the material is stretchy and provides good full leg compression (my son's legs are skinny) so the sock can be folded down below the knee if needed without rolling. Bright orange looks good on a boy too, although it reminds me of Pippi Longstocking (and it will look even better on a girl :))) The material is dense and absorbs shock well.
