These shovels are exactly as advertised. While I don't consider them heavy duty (the handles can be beveled and wider), they are good enough for everyday use with coffee and other dry ingredients. too weak for that, but to be honest I don't see a situation where I would ever need to measure out 1/8 cup of something like that. I would use my measuring spoons for something like this or a larger measuring cup and I would scoop with a spatula. These measuring spoons will cover our coffee needs for a long time.
