My husband has tried several other brands of pine tar soap over the past several years, from small batch $12 a bar to $3 grandfather bars, and it quickly became his favorite after receiving our first order. These bars smell wonderful, clean effectively without leaving a feeling of tightness or residue on the skin, hold up in the shower (stored in a mesh pocket organizer), don't melt and are very affordable. Update: rating downgraded. to 1 start since my last (4th) purchase. The last 3 packs of this soap have been great, but something has definitely changed. My bathroom used to smell strongly of pine as soon as I opened the package, leaving a light but noticeable scent on my skin after showering. However, the latest pack smells almost nothing when the soap dries, but leaves a lingering smell of regular fabric softener when you wash it. don't think i will buy again.
