Review on Enhance Your Water System: 💧 Fleck 5600 Filter Valve Rebuild Kit by Henry Brown

I purchased this kit because my acid neutralizer has been consistently leaking from the backwash hose for several months. After a bit of research on the internet and YouTube I found out that this is caused by a bad piston and/or seals. YouTube videos accurately documented the installation and installation was easy - just 7 screws. It turned out that my piston was bad, which was indicated by the notch on the side of one of the ribs, which was getting bigger and increasing the leakage. If you have a backwash only device, order this kit (green/black plunger). If you have a water softener with a flow meter, order a different kit (white/grey piston) - it comes with a brine valve and the piston is slightly different (from what I hear each piston works with both backwash and dosing control heads, but they offer different performance, which I think corresponds to backwash duration or flow rate, I'm not sure which). During the installation process, I found that my bypass valve wasn't working properly, so I ordered that too. Three days after installation, no leaks, no out of cycle drains - perfect!
