I ordered a size 7 to fit my 50th percentile child who just turned 8. It sits well at the waist without tightening the adjustable elastic. The legs are nice and slim, but he can still move easily and sit cross-legged comfortably. The fabric is light and stretches well. The length is perfect. The knees are reinforced with very coarse polyester tape. My son immediately felt itching from the panel in his knee. I was able to remove the material but there was some polyester on it.
