We blocked our drafty (cold outside) natural fireplace with a 2 inch sheet of Styrofoam. This drastically changed our energy bills BUT left a rather ugly (crumpled foil) 48" x 48" closed chimney in our den. We hang stockings on our coats; we needed an attractive solution. We bet it wouldn't look too fake, silly or vulgar. Miraculously, after folding the edges to fit our hole, all we see is the fire and surrounding firebrick of this painting. The fireplace was red brick, this image looks amazingly realistic from 15 feet away and the way the bricks interlock takes on a realistic three dimensional look. The low cost is a huge saving over the energy normally wasted in the chimney.
