Sitting here burning Firefly CLEAN Fuel Lamp Oil in my new Vermont Lanterns Brass "Dorset" Table Lamp (8", Antique Brass) I can see that it's a match made in heaven! :) I can't see and/or smell ANY of this alleged soot or smoke that I've read about from a very small number of people. I believe their problems are due to misuse of this beautiful product ( operator error) I will continue to order this lamp oil as long as the price does not go up (note this was a Prime item when I ordered it so free shipping. However due to today's listing this no longer looks Prime and I see they added a shipping fee of $7.77) I'll wait until it's prime again because I don't want to pay that price for it Firefly is shooting itself due to the V don't put sand in your foot yourself. and the ones i like: i love that it's probably the safest lamp oil on the market for fl. ash point, the temperature it ignites at is 220 degrees so worry less about keeping it indoors to store. I love that this is a high mileage fuel that burns 50% longer than competitors. well in my lamp with no problems. I like that I don't feel anything at all in this lamp oil before burning, during burning or after burning. Keep a few things in mind when using it. It will reach you completely odorless or noticeable odor. If you mix that lamp oil with kerosene (which you should never do) you're ruining a good thing, it probably won't burn properly, and the kerosene or other unpleasant odors you smell are coming from the kerosene, not this lamp oil. (Then you blame the lamp oil for the smell, and that's just WRONG!) the oil lamp or lantern you intend to use it in and turn the lamp or lantern upside down on some paper towels (the lamp will be exposed). , of course) for about an hour and allow all the old oil to drain from the lamp onto the absorbent. Towels. Then take a clean towel and wipe any remaining oil off the lamp. If your lamp's wick has ever been used for kerosene or even another brand of lamp oil, you should at this point replace it with a new, unused wick just before burning that oil. . (Remember, you don't want to smell old kerosene, do you?) Not only that, but if you put the old kerosene-soaked wick back into the lamp, the kerosene in the old wick will contaminate your new lamp oil and make for an uncomfortable experience . If you use this lamp oil correctly (and not contaminated), you will have a very pleasant experience.
