Not working to send audio to iPhone 12

I bought this to send audio from the mixer to my iPhone for Instagram Live. From my mixer I use an RCA to 3.5mm TRS cable that connects to this adapter and then connects to an Apple Lightning adapter. My guess is that the female input on this cable is also TRRS, so the iPhone doesn't read the TRS cable signal from my mixer as a microphone input (only as headphones). I have since bought another adapter which I hope will work. The list should be clearer on both inputs and outputs so other people like me are not fooled.
