Review on πŸ”ͺ 12x18 Inch Pink and Blue Cutting Mat - Ideal for Sewing, Quilting, Arts, and Crafts by Amy Mcleod

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Would I buy again despite a few minor issues

There are two reasons I'm only giving this rug 4 stars instead of 5. First, since I first cut him. dull, the yellow paint that formed the lines began to smear. I have attached a photo to show this. Over time, it grew in number until there were numerous spots on the mat where the ink was smeared. The paint does not peel off, so I have no explanation for this phenomenon. Secondly, the mat is a little softer, for example softer than the Olfa mat. This softness causes the mat to cling to certain fibers, particularly the batting. After cutting the cotton batting on the carpet, I had to spend a few minutes using a carpet straightener or nylon brush to remove the cotton fibers from the carpet. I immediately noticed the softness because when I cut through just one layer of fabric I can really feel my spinning blade sinking into the mat. Despite these two negative points, I would buy the mat again. Because it's reversible, it's great value for money and aside from the issues outlined above, it works great. It arrived in a large flat box and although the box itself was damaged the mat was fine - no warping or other damage.

Pros
  • Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Strong, well made, and is easy to see the lines and markings on the mat.
