This is a beautiful accessory and it's well packaged and presented. It comes in a sturdy, slim box with a glasses cleaning cloth and an extra set of elastic bands. It has gold colored hardware, and in contrast with the black beaded strap it's a very handsome and elegant looking strap that conveys a different aesthetic than perhaps something made with canvas or rope. It's very presentable as a gift, and I like that the seller advertises the option of removing elastic bands, hooking the ends together, and wearing it as jewelry. I also find the beaded pattern to be intricate and visually pleasing. It would make a decent gift due to aesthetics and packaging.However, aesthetics and packaging aside, I can't say this is the most practical eyeglass strap of all time. It should be kept in mind that you might be wearing this for hours a day, and walking around with a thick, somewhat heavy beaded strap hanging on the back of your neck might eventually prove cumbersome. The weight is noticeable when you hold the strap in your hand. Second, due to the thickness of the strap, the appearance of the strap is very obvious and may not necessarily be the kind of distinctive look preferred by some users. If you're fine with a thick strap hanging off your glasses and around your face/on the back of your neck, this could be fine, but for someone who wears glasses the entire day and wants to keep them on a chain for security, having a thick and heavy strap on your neck all the time or around your face day in and day out could bother some and interfere with their appearance in ways they don't particularly want.On the plus side, you can technically switch out the beaded strap by using pliers, and test out other materials, such as a leather or metal chain. I modified this item so that the beaded strap was out, and I put a gold colored metal chain in. The result looks great so far!This is a beautiful item, however, and I would recommend it to someone who doesn't really mind how much an eyeglass strap weighs and wants a beautiful design, or doesn't intend to use this item constantly. l would not recommend it to regular glasses wearers who would rely on it and would be bothered by this item's weight or distinctive appearance.
