Review on πŸ–οΈ Walnut Hollow Crank Handle for Extruder by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A few simple steps and it works like new after every use!

Received quickly and exactly as described. I was nervous about ordering after reading the reviews so I was confident that I would use it right away, put it away and come back to use it a week later. Here's what I found. It's easy to unscrew the cap to add your little metal disc, but if you don't clean it well and screw it back on to stow it tightly, you'll have no problem. I found it very difficult to fully clean the screw on the cap as the clay inevitably gets stuck in the threads. I've found that using a small amount of WD-40 or another metal lube designed for metal definitely helps. When you first use it you can see that it has a light layer of grease on the metal push rod inside, that got me thinking about it. In conclusion, I would advise wiping it well with a paper towel after each use, especially the threads inside the screw cap and spraying a little metal lubricant on a paper towel or a rag and also wiping the internal threads of it before removing it! Hope this helps someone! Aside from the filament cleaning difficulties (which you will have with ALL of these tools), I really like this extruder. The body has a comfortable feel, the handle turns easily and is very smooth even with the OLD clay I tested it on! (I conditioned and softened the clay but it was still old ole clay and I had no problems!)
