months the water tastes like plain nasty tap water again it's time to replace my filter, so I'll look for other options. Everything was fine while this lasted but now I'm disappointed. I had a built in fridge. Filter on my ice maker and it's a 5 star product. So I had to put a woder filter under the sink for my cold kitchen faucet.I ended up settling for 5,000 instead of 10,000 in my kitchen because I had to spend the $20 difference on adapters and a wrench. The connections are easy and leak-free IF you have a 3/8" water valve and a 3/8" faucet hose. In my house, 1/2" is on every sink. I had a hard time finding suitable e adapters as I couldn't find them in local off-network hardware stores. Unfortunately I couldn't get much advice on what I needed so I couldn't order from Revain. I live about 20 miles from the nearest Home Depot, but in the end I had no choice but to drive. It was easy to find a 1/2" female to 3/8" male adapter for the valve side, but I couldn't find a 3/8" female to 1/2" male adapter, which forced me to replace the supply hose from the faucet, which required the purchase of a $13 sink wrench. I ended up buying a set of universal connectors from BrassCraft. So if you have a 1/2" at home and want to hook up a water filter (most competing brands also have a 3/8", hopefully you can save yourself the headache by reading this and buying a kit. direct. Once I had the equipment I needed, installation was quick and easy, taking less than 10 minutes.A sink wrench is far easier than trying to insert a crescent wrench or removing the faucet assembly. The filter holder clamp is virtually useless if you have drywall over under-sink studs (as I have done in my last two houses) as the screw provided is too short to go through the drywall to the stand. In this case zip ties were my solution. Water quality improved immediately. I live on a water main, which doesn't use fluoride or lead in the water, but we have a strong chlorine taste.Like the fridge filter immediately eliminated chlorine, metal and sulfur aromas. Not as fresh as my Pur Fridge pitcher, but pretty close (which I still use for drinking water, filled with Woder filtered water). I use water from my kitchen faucet to make water. My family makes a lot of fresh pasta themselves and we no longer have a batch contaminated with chlorine flavor. No more chlorine-blanched vegetables and baked potatoes that taste like unpleasant tap water when cooked. I hope the shelf life is as good as the fridge's built-in filter!
