I used this part to replace an original Mercedes trunk. The original case was attached at both ends with disposable metal clips. I had to cut it off for service and decided to buy this Beck Arnley part rather than going to the dealer or buying a special tool to put a new metal clip on. Anthers of acceptable quality, not worn or torn for several months. use. The straps attached to it also fulfill their function. I used pliers to tighten them during installation and they have not slipped or shifted yet. They may not have as strong a seal as the original metal clips, but they will certainly isolate the vast majority of contaminants. The quality, availability, and price of this product make it a great replacement.
